Fred Gambino is a painter, illustrator and author of the new novel Dark Shepherd.
He has spent the better part of four decades working in the visual side of the story industry as a concept artist for film and games and a book jacket illustrator, a career that has been a masterclass in the art of storytelling and has informed his writing. A lifelong science fiction nerd and devoted science hobbyist, interested in relativistic physics, orbital mechanics and the wonders of the universe, it was inevitable that his first book would be a fast-moving science fiction thriller.
He lives in Derbyshire on the doorstep of the peak district with his partner Jenny and ageing cat.
When not writing, painting or illustrating he likes to cook, walk and cycle.
