Phillip Mann was born in North Yorkshire. After working in drama in the USA, he moved to New Zealand where, apart from working in the theatre, he founded the first New Zealand Drama Studies Department at Victoria University. He began writing Science Fiction while working at the New China News Agency in Beijing. To date he has published ten Science Fiction novels as well as many short stories, articles etc. His novel, The Disestablishment of Paradise was a finalist for the Arthur C. Clarke Award in 2014.
