NewCon Press exists to deliver the very best in science fiction, fantasy, dark fiction, horror, and slipstream. We are proud to have published some of the biggest names in genre fiction while also showcasing exciting new talent with the potential to become big names themselves.
In 2006 Ian Whates set out to produce a single book as a fundraiser. He chose to call the imprint publishing to volume ‘NewCon Press’ after a convention he’d helped organise the previous year. The thrill of holding that first book, Time Pieces, in his hand instantly banished all memory of the effort, aggravation and frustration that had gone into producing it, and he decided to do another. Twenty titles later, in July 2011, NewCon Press celebrated its fifth anniversary with a party in London and the launch of Liz Williams’ collection A Glass of Shadow.
